February 3 - HFT, guidebook checkoff, Color Guard training

February 10 – Recruit Registration 1p-4p

February 17 – Firearms training – Hot Shots ages 12 and above, Bowling ages 11 and under. RSVP by Feb 10

February 24 – Day 1 boot camp

March 3 – Fire Prevention Class

Boot Camp Day 2

March 10 – Boot Camp Day 3

March 17 – PFT & Flight Simulator

Day 4 Boot Camp

March 24 – Day 5 Boot Camp

March 31-April 1 – Recruit lockin

April 7 – No YM drill or Boot camp due Easter weekend

April 14-15 – Encampment Boot Camp Day 8 & 9

April 21 – Recruit Graduation

April 28 – March of Dimes WalkAmerica Community Service

May 5 – Air Show if scheduled or Car Wash @ chick File’ plus Recruiting day at Hollydale elementary includes color guard

May 19 – Field Day plus Change of Command & Honorary Discharge for YMs

June 1-3 Three day encampment (invite another unit)

June 16 – Swim quals on base early am or Firearms safety training class or DEA

Young Marines are Looking for a Few Good Kids!

Registration for the next Recruit Training Class (boot camp) will be on February 10, 2007, at 1pm. The class will start on February 24, with graduation day on April 21. Registration cost is $100.00 per recruit. (includes required boot camp clothing). Registration will be held at Marietta Central Library, 266 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA 30060. NOTE: Unfortunately we will "not" be taking 8 or 9 year olds for this boot camp. We will reconsider for the fall class.

Directions to Marietta Central Library

Take I-75 North to Marietta exit 265. Turn left at the light. At the intersection of North Marietta Parkway and Hwy 41, turn left. Go two lights to the “Big Chicken” and turn right onto Route 120 (Roswell Street.). Continue West approximately 1.4 miles. The library is located across from the Marietta National Cemetery on the left hand side of the road. Turn on Alexander Street. Parking is to the rear of the building.

ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD RECRUITS.

THE YOUNG MARINE PROGRAM WILL...

ALL RECRUITS MUST FIRST GO THROUGH A RIGOROUS BOOTCAMP
WHICH IS CONDUCTED OVER A THIRTEEN WEEK PERIOD
(Usually meeting on Saturday morning)

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

In July of 1993the Young Marines program was recognized as the official Drug Demand Reduction programof the United States Marine Corps.

DEA

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), officially recognize the Young Marines in 1996 as a leader in our nation's fight to combat the damage that illicit drugs do to our children and to America society as a whole. Young Marines are required to take the following obligation;”
From this day forward, I sincerely promise: I will set an example for all other youth to follow and I shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon my God, my Country and it’s flag, my parents, myself or upon the Young Marines. These I will honor and respect in a manner that will reflect credit upon them and myself.

The Young Marine Program is a non-profit organization. In 1980 the Young Marines program was granted the status as a Youth Educational Organization... An IRS approved 501 (c)3 tax exempt status.
